HAOLAMI species guide (updated 8.9.17)

Description

They are the Haolami, foreign entities that are known to explore their universe in search of knowledge.

Breakdown of anatomy

:bulletwhite: They are about 5-6ft (1.6-2m) tall, similar to humans. Therefore they can also wear human clothes~ they don't have to go naked (unless you like that... it's fine, there's no genitals or anything)
:bulletwhite: Lifespan: They will usually deteriorate naturally within 5000 years, though they will deteriorate faster in climates lower than 2000K (3140 F // 1726 C). This is the reason why most don't stay for extended periods of time on the planet Earth, though they do visit cold locations out of their impulse for curiosity and new information.
:bulletwhite: Basically their fluid is similar in function to human blood, though it doesnt really work the same way as our circulatory system. If they lose enough they will cease to function.
:bulletwhite: The fluid while on Earth / other cold locations is slightly thicker than water, though it still remains somewhat transparent. While in their proper temperatures the liquid becomes gaseous
:bulletwhite: Haolami are a combination carbon based life form and something else entirely.
:bulletwhite: They're capable of thought and high-intelligence processes, including speech and other forms of communication.
:bulletwhite: Oxygen is not required for them to survive. It's necessary for them to subsist on nitrogen and noble gasses.
:bulletwhite: They don't weigh very much due to their composition, so they're a bit floaty and light on their feet, though they cannot fly.
:bulletwhite: The "wings" are holograms. They are able to switch them on or off. It's thought that these wings in combination with their body markings display information about the individual, almost like its DNA.
:bulletwhite: Audio communication consists of vibrations and humming. They communicate within the VHF and higher frequency ranges, waaaaayyy out of human's ability to hear. Since VHF+ frequencies are used on Earth for radio telecommunications, sometimes if they're loud enough they can interrupt radio broadcasts.
:bulletwhite: The fluids inside are not in a vacuum, so they follow the pull of gravity.
:bulletwhite: The skeleton/ clear substance is not glass. Though it's transparent and sturdy, it's also flexible to a certain extent, allowing them free range of motion with their legs.

Guide to Rarity Traits

:bulletgreen: N - usual traits. 1-2 eyes. 1-3 horns. 2 arms.

:bulletyellow: R - uncommon traits. 3 eyes. non circular window. atypical skin patterns (more or less skin to conceal their glass-like skeletons). Swirling shape horns, oversized horn(s). Asymmetrical horns.

:bulletred: SR - rare traits. 4 eyes. 4 arms. 4 horns.

:bulletwhite: UR - unheard-of tier, highly unstable! 5+ eyes, 6+ arms. 6+ horns. 75% or more skin missing. Centaur- or mermaid-like mutations.

Whew~ if you have any other questions about how they work, please ask in a comment! I'll be sure to answer and update you~

Of course if you obtain a Haolami you don't have to strictly follow their lore or anything hahaha~ you can do as you like! ouo b

Lore

From somewhere in the universe, there's a planet where Haolami are hatched. Immediately afterwards, they disperse and seek information about how the universe works. For some reason, they seem to gravitate towards one topic, like perhaps energy, a certain planet or organism, the concept of entropy, etc.

Sometimes, they're found wandering into other planets, like Earth.

Each Haolami is different in terms of their moral alignments, though most of them are neutral and want to observe how things work. They usually don't harm humans or animals on purpose.

UPDATED Custom Haolami Info - OPENSo you want to assume responsibility for a rogue alien? Don't blame me if something goes wrong! They're all monsters!
But if you really insist on it... the Space Rangers can hunt down and capture one of these errant beings for you, for a nominal fee.
(If you don't know what this species is, check this handy guide~)

The fee for a standard Haolami is currently $30 each
-At this price I do not include any special/unheard of traits, though there is always a slight chance that your custom Haolami does come out with a special feature.
-This slight chance can be raised if you decide to pay any amount over $30 (up to you how much extra you'd like to pay)
-Special traits are anything at SR and UR tiers. (after all, those guys are hard to hunt down. You humans sure are picky!)
-I will only make adjustments once if you are not satisfied with the result, extra adjustments will incur an extra fee. However, you're free to change minor detail

Haolami are a closed species that I designed- please do not make one for yourself without my permission.

Vision
I can definitely see this becoming something rather known. It looks quite good, and has a very different design.

Originality
Very original. While I don't know my way around most humanoid species (seeing as it's mostly just animal species), I can say I haven't seen anything like this. The futuristic design is interesting, and the species itself has a lot of variability.

Technique
I honestly can't put much here, but I can say that it is drawn and executed well. The picture itself is easy to look at, and the writing is easy to read. The colours are put together well enough that it won't completely confuse you, and its put well together with looking 3D.

Impact
Overall, I would say this is very interesting to me personally. I would love to see more of these, and watch them advance. I look forward to this uvu
